Referees

New South Wales Volleyball Referees’ Association

The New South Wales Volleyball Referees Association (NSWVRA) is an independent body that services the volleyball community with quality and professional officiating. NSWVRA is managed by a dedicated Board that continuously strives to improve the breadth and depth of volleyball officials at all levels. NSWVRA works in collaboration with Volleyball NSW, Volleyball Australia Referee Committee, and other member states to achieve these goals.

Referee Accreditation Framework

In line with the new framework outlined by Volleyball Australia (VA), the accreditation framework for volleyball referees has had a slight refresh. Without major changes to the pathway for gaining accreditation, the restructured Level 2 Course ensures:

  • Consistency of refereeing standards across the nation
  • Incorporation of beach volleyball rules in its course content
  • Certification of accreditation post-course attendance – referees who complete the VA Level 2 Referee Course will become Level 2 Candidates
  • Minimum requirements for upgrades are clearly outlined, achievable, and provide a more accurate assessment of referees’ skills.

More details about Referee Education and Development can be found on the Volleyball Australia website.
