Youth Indoor Phoenix is the performance program to prepare NSW representative teams for the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships (AYVC) which will be hosted in Bendigo, Victoria from 15-20 September 2024.

Youth Indoor Phoenix is a state-wide age-specific program (Under 14, U15, U16, U17, and U18) that aims to target the highest-performing male and female athletes living within NSW. 

Selected athletes and coaches will go through a 3 Phase process including:

Trials: Open to any athletes born 2008 only.

Squad Phase (starting 22nd of June): A group of selected athletes and coaches undergo NSW-based centralised and localised development and training opportunities.

Team Phase (starting 27th of July): The Team group is narrowed to only athletes and coaches required for the AYVC. Selected athletes and coaches undergo further centralised development and training prior to traveling to and competing at the AYVC.

* During the Team Phase a number of Shadow Athletes will be named as official training partners and potential replacement athletes in the case of injury or illness of a team athlete. 

Important Information

Athletes must have a full 2024/2025 U18 Membership of Volleyball NSW. You will need to be logged into your account to access the trials registration form through the links below. If you are not a full member and only play for your school, please contact us on vnsw.phoenix@volleyballnsw.com.au if you want to trial. 

Location of trials and playday: Netball Central

Times and dates :

Trial day 25th of May - 5pm - 7pm

Trial day 8th of June - 5pm - 7pm

*DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF TRIAL REGISTRATIONS, YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND SESSIONS ON 1st and 15th  OF JUNE INSTEAD. WE WILL NOTIFY YOU AT LEAST ONE WEEK PRIOR OF TRIALS.

Trial Cost: $50 + Transaction Fee (does not contribute to program cost if you are successful)

Trial cost includes BOTH trial dates. 

What to wear: Please wear something appropriate to move and play in (trial uniforms are not provided)

Youth Phoenix Program

Training camps will also include Phoenix play days. 

AYVC is set to take place yet again in Bendigo, Victoria from 16-20 September. The traveling team will depart Sydney 15th of September and return on the 20th of September 2024.
