Volleyball NSW is committed to providing high-quality volleyball opportunities that promote participation, skill development, and understanding of the rules of the game. Through team-based, fun, and inclusive competitions, we support schools across NSW in growing the sport.

The Term 3 Indoor Schools Championships is a two-day format competition designed for students in Years 7–12, open to all schools and skill levels across NSW. While participation is open, this event is recommended for students at an intermediate level, with basic knowledge of official FIVB scoring procedures and rules. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable match experience under FIVB conditions, and serves as an ideal preparation event for the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup (AVSC) hosted by Volleyball Australia on the Gold Coast.

The Year 8 & 9 tournament will be held on Tuesday 1st and Friday 4th September at Netball Central.

DIVISIONS:

This event will comprise the following year groups, limited to 6 teams (unless otherwise stated) per division:

• YEAR 8 BOYS DIVISION 2
• YEAR 8 GIRLS DIVISION 1
• YEAR 8 GIRLS DIVISION 2
• YEAR 9 BOYS DIVISION 1
• YEAR 9 BOYS DIVISION 2
• YEAR 9 GIRLS DIVISION 1
• YEAR 9 GIRLS DIVISION 2

Volleyball NSW reserves the right to cap, merge or cancel divisions as required, and to close registrations early if capacity is reached.

MATCHES:

Minimum four (4) games per team.

All round robin matches are timed best-of-five (Bo5), 10-minute warmup and 50-minute game. Cross-over (playoff, quarterfinal, semifinal) matches are timed best-of-three (Bo3), 10-minute warmup and 50-minute game. Medal matches are untimed best-of-three (Bo3), 10-minute warmup.

REGISTRATION:

Teams do not need to be affiliated with Volleyball NSW. Team entry is limited to one (1) team per division per school.

PARTICIPANTS:

Participants MUST be a registered student of the school.

Players may only play for ONE team and in the year group they are currently registered. Team lists will be checked prior to the competition date.

All teams are required to perform duty during the event. Further information on duty requirements can be found in the event info guide and regulations.

COST:

$770 gst incl. per team

FINAL PAYMENTS WILL BE REQUIRED 48 HOURS PRIOR TO COMPETITION DATE.

Refund Policy

 All Schools Cup Competitions are organised and run using the Schools Cup Indoor Rules & Regulations and the FIVB Volleyball Rules which can be found on the Volleyball NSW website. Furthermore, all indoor volleyball events offered by VNSW are done so under the overarching policies and procedures of Volleyball Australia.
