Grant Secured: New Shade Structures coming for Blacktown City Beach

Volleyball NSW is thrilled to announce that we have successfully secured a grant to enhance the player and spectator experience at Blacktown City Beach Courts through the installation of additional permanent shade structures.

We are proud to be one of just 25 successful applicants for the Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grant, awarded by the Office of Responsible Gambling. This was an extremely competitive process, with 216 applications received and only 25 grants granted statewide. Securing this funding is a significant achievement and will help us continue our commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for everyone who visits our beach volleyball facilities.

With the growing popularity of beach volleyball in NSW, adequate shade is essential for player welfare and community engagement—especially during the hot summer months. The new shade structures will:

  • Improve comfort for athletes, coaches, and spectators.
  • Support health and safety by reducing exposure to heat and harmful UV rays.
  • Enhance the venue experience, making BCB a premier destination for beach volleyball events and social play.

We are incredibly grateful to our funding partners for supporting our vision of fostering inclusive and sustainable sporting environments. Planning and construction for the new structures will commence soon, and we’ll keep you updated on timelines and progress.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to invest in the future of beach volleyball in NSW!
