NSW Phoenix Shine at the 2025 Australian Junior Volleyball Championships (AJVC) 

The 2025 Australian Junior Volleyball Championships, held in Adelaide, South Australia from July 10–13, brought together the nation’s top junior talent for four days of thrilling competition, camaraderie, and high-level volleyball. With teams competing across U19, U21, and U23 divisions, the event showcased the future stars of Australian volleyball. 

Among the standout performers was NSW Phoenix, whose athletes delivered a series of impressive results across multiple age groups, reinforcing our reputation as one of the country’s premier development programs. 

NSW Phoenix Results Overview: 

  • 🥇 U19 Women – Gold Medal 
    The U19 Women’s team capped off a dominant tournament run with a gold medal victory, showcasing exceptional teamwork and resilience in the final against AUS Green in a thrilling 5 set match. 

  • 🥈 U23 Men – Silver Medal 
    The U23 Men battled fiercely through the draw, with many tough 5 set matches, ultimately the boys securing silver in a hard-fought final, demonstrating depth and maturity in their gameplay. 

  • 🥉 U21 Men – Bronze Medal 
    The U21 Men’s squad earned a well-deserved bronze, bouncing back from a semifinal loss to claim third place with grit and determination after battling it out with ACT in another tough 4 set match 

  • 4️⃣ U21 Women – 4th Place 
    Narrowly missing out on a podium finish, the U21 Women showed promise and potential, with several standout performances throughout the tournament. 

  • 5️⃣ U19 Men – 5th Place 
    The U19 Men’s team displayed strong fundamentals and competitive spirit, finishing fifth in a tightly contested division. 

  • 5️⃣ U23 Women – 5th Place 
    The U23 Women’s team also secured a fifth-place finish, reflecting the depth of talent and development within the NSW Phoenix program 

NSW Phoenix’s performance at this year’s championships continues Volleyball NSW legacy of excellence in junior volleyball. With medals across both genders and across three age groups shows our ability to compete with the best in Australia.  

Beyond the medals, the event was a celebration of sportsmanship, growth, and community. NSW Phoenix athletes not only competed at a high level but also embodied the values of teamwork, perseverance, and respect—qualities that will serve them well both on and off the court. 

Volleyball NSW would like to take the time to congratulate the following athletes from each team who were awarded their team MVP and Phoenix Culture awards. These awards were given to the athletes by their coaches and awarded to the players who not only performed well in volleyball but also embodied the values of our NSW Phoenix culture. As the 2025 Australian Junior Volleyball Championships ends, Volleyball NSW and the NSW Phoenix program can proudly reflect on their outstanding achievements. With strong performances across all divisions, the teams have laid a solid foundation for future success at both national and international levels.
