NSW Stars Set to Shine at Beach Volleyball

World Championships in Adelaide

This November, the world’s best beach volleyball athletes will converge on Adelaide for the Beach Volleyball World Championships, and two of NSW’s finest will be front and centre: Stefie Fejes and Izac Carracher. Representing Australia on home soil is a rare and special opportunity, and these athletes are ready to make their mark on the global stage.

The World Championships are more than just a tournament — they’re a celebration of elite sport, resilience, and the vibrant beach volleyball community. For Stefie and Izac, it’s a chance to showcase their hard work and passion in front of family, friends, and fans from across the country.

We caught up with them ahead of the event to hear their thoughts:

Q1: What does it mean to you to represent Australia at a home World Championships?

Stefie’s response:

"It’s incredibly special. Playing at a World Championships is amazing on its own, but getting to do it at home in Australia is just incredible. I’m so excited to play in front of an Aussie crowd, with my family, friends and our awesome beach volleyball community there to support us."

Izac’s response:

"It’s such a special feeling to represent Australia at home. We spend so much time overseas competing, so having the chance to wear the green and gold on home sand in front of family, friends and an Aussie crowd is something I am really looking forward to. There’s a real sense of pride and connection knowing we’re part of showcasing our sport to the country, these kind of opportunities are so rare and we hope we can do something special that everyone can get behind!" 

Q2: What should the Australian/NSW community look forward to seeing from these Beach World Champs?

Stefie’s response:

"It’s such a unique opportunity to watch the best athletes in the world play live. Seeing it in person is so different to watching on TV, you really feel the speed, power and energy. If you haven’t already, grab your tickets and come to Adelaide to soak it all up!"

Izac’s response:

"It’s going to be an incredible event with world class beach volleyball, home crowds and that electric energy that only comes with major events on home soil. The Australian and NSW community can look forward to seeing the best teams in the world battling it out in one of the most iconic locations, with Aussie athletes giving everything for the green and gold. We will have a festival vibe, there is something for everyone to enjoy."

Q3: Which match are you most excited for and why?

Stefie’s response:

"This is a tough one! We’re in a pool with amazing teams, so I’m honestly excited for all of our games. Getting to play on Centre Court for all three matches is very cool!!! I can’t wait to soak up the atmosphere and bring my best game every time I step on the sand."

Izac’s response:

"I'm most looking forward to our first match in the stadium, the 10 pm match in the green and gold session on opening night against Morocco. There’s nothing like that first serve under lights. There’s something about night games that makes beach volleyball feel like a show."
