Volleyball NSW Welcomes Three New Board Members

Volleyball NSW is thrilled to announce the appointment of three exceptional individuals to our Board of Directors. Their diverse expertise and passion for sport will help drive our mission to grow and develop volleyball across New South Wales.

Volleyball NSW Board President Julien Prosser shared his enthusiasm for the new appointments:

Meet Our New Board Members

Sarah DavisSarah Davis is a risk-management professional, with more than two decades of experience primarily in financial services leading teams and running projects for banks including National Australia Bank, Macquarie Bank and Citi. In search of more out of life, she stepped away from her corporate career to organise and lead an expedition down the Nile, from Rwanda to Egypt. It was a life-changing adventure and she has since paddled the Murray River, cycled across Australia and bikepacked through Oman. Sarah is now a risk consultant and speaker. Her work focuses on helping organisations and individuals become better risk-takers. She supports not-for-profits to uplift risk practices, strengthen risk literacy and enable aligned, confident decision-making. Her work with individuals and teams focuses on embracing uncertainty, overcoming fear and achieving what might have once seemed impossible.

She is an active surf lifesaver, ski paddler and self-confessed gym junkie. Sarah is passionate about the role sport plays in building confidence, connection and community. She is thrilled to be joining Volleyball NSW to be part of this incredible, growing sport that has so much potential. 


Sarah shares her excitment for joining the Volleyball NSW board:

Stephanie LiStephanie has extensive experience across regulatory, legal and operational roles within both professional services and one of Australia’s leading national sporting organisations, Football Australia. Her work supporting major football competitions, drafting key regulations and policies, and advising on commercial agreements brings valuable legal insight to VNSW as the sport continues to grow and evolve.

Stephanie’s love of volleyball began in high school and has continued through more than a decade of playing SVL. The sport has been a constant source of connection, challenge and community.

Driven by a desire to give back to the sport that has given her so much, Stephanie is committed to using her professional expertise to help continue to grow the sport and ensure it remains accessible for all.

Stehanie Li shares her excitment for combining her passion for volleyball and giving back to her sport in this new role:

Volleyball has been, and continues to be, a significant part of my life, bringing me meaningful connections and countless moments of joy. I’m honoured to have this opportunity to give back to the sport and help strengthen its foundations to support its diverse and vibrant community”- Stephanie Li 

Jacqui HobanJacqui is an experienced sports executive with over 20 years in high performance sport, commercial operations and major event delivery.She brings leadership experience from the Australian sporting landscape, having worked in clubs, national and state governing bodies and well as the tourism and entertainment industries.

With roles in organisations such Football Australia, Cricket NSW and Southern Cross Austereo, she has been fortunate to have led some large strategic projects such as competition growth, world cup programs, event commercialisation projects and club expansion throughout her career. 

As a lover of sport, Jacqui spectates at as many events as possible and participates socially. Her volleyball career started and ended at Australian University Games, but she remains a casual player with friends.

Jacquie shares her excitement about joining the Volleyball NSW Board of Directors:

As Volleyball NSW embarks on this exciting new chapter, the addition of Jacqui Hoban, Sarah Davis, and Stephanie Li to our Board marks a significant step toward strengthening our governance and driving growth. Their combined expertise and passion for sport will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of volleyball in NSW. Rebecca Walter, Volleyball NSW CEO, summed up the sentiment perfectly:
