The Youth Beach Volleyball Championships was the culmination of months of hard work for young athletes and a significant event in the beach season. In collaboration with the Wind and Waves Festival, the event aimed to promote multiple sports across the two days.

Unfortunately, a group of six people damaged the equipment the night before the event. Despite the setback, the team quickly rallied together and worked hard to repair the damage as participants and parents arrived. At no time did we want to cancel the event, despite the damage caused to the equipment the night before. We know how important this event was to the young athletes and we were determined to repair the damage and ensure that the competition could go ahead as planned.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the team, parents, and athletes, we were able to make the necessary repairs and deliver a successful event. 

A special shout out goes to the dedicated parents and athletes, the event was a success, and the competition throughout the weekend was intense.

Notable moments include the last-minute pair-up of Ashley Foo and Maud Murphy in the Under 16 Girls, who fought hard and won a bronze medal. Additionally, it's worth mentioning the efforts of Filip Zappala, Pathways Co ordinator, who filled in for a game with Lucas Fletcher against Hugh Akamacic and Sam Garvin. The event continues to grow each year showcasing the talent in NSW with athletes as young as eight years old taking the court.

This was the last competition before some of these young athletes headed to Queensland to represent NSW in the Australian Youth Beach Championships.
