Volleyball NSW is thrilled to announce the launch of "Phoenix" the new Performance arm of its pathways program. With the incredible growth in participation across NSW, this new brand is tailored towards athletes/coaches/referees who are looking to pursue representative volleyball at regional, state, national and international levels.

Starting in 2021, VNSW will launch the Senior Phoenix program to elevate the culture of top Volleyball performance in NSW. Senior Phoenix will raise the standard of play in the state while better preparing top talents living in NSW. Successful applicants for the Senior Phoenix program will gain access to two weekly training sessions, head and assistant coaching staff and high performance strength and conditioning. This program will be centralized in Sydney while also offering spaces to standout regional athletes as well as NSW born athletes playing and competing with Volleyball Australia or overseas. Senior Phoenix will be the primary training ground for athletes, coaches and referees to be nominated for teams competing in national level events (AVL, State of Origin, Asian Club Champs etc.) as well as to be identified for the Volleyball Australia national pathway.

Phoenix will also include a notable change to the classification of our under age State Team programs to remain in full alignment with Volleyball Australia. Effective immediately our programs will be reclassified to "Youth" (Under 18) and "Junior" (Under 21). This change in age catchment will not alter the intent of our programs, however, it will provide a renewed opportunity to develop U21 Male and Female teams in preparation for the National Junior Championships July 8-10 in Sydney.
