Youth Pre-season Beach Camp

As we begin to shift our focus to playing outdoors VNSW is excited to offer a Youth Pre-Season beach camp on Manly Beach on Wednesday, October 4th, and Thursday 5th. In collaboration with the Northern Beaches Volleyball Association (NBVA), this camp will start the beach season with technical and gameplay fundamentals in a fun skill-based environment. Led by the top beach coaches in the state, the goal is to prepare athletes for a great season of competitions by developing sand movements and enhancing game IQ.
This camp welcomes indoor athletes who have yet to play beach as well as season beach athletes looking to begin their season. Both days will begin with technical sessions and progress into more game-based playing and competition. The camp will operate on a skill-based ladder so athletes will be matched according to ability within age groups to keep the level of play at the highest possible standard.
Phoenix Head Coaches Chris Todd and Martin Reader will be supported by top NSW Beach Volleyball player-coaches. Each day will provide Phoenix education in both technical and tactical aspects of the game. Players will leave with enhanced confidence in their base abilities as well as a deeper understanding of how the Phoenix Beach program is building the game in state team programs.
The camp will be split into U14-U15 and U16-U18 divisions. These two groups will be managed by NBVA and VSNW Phoenix Coaching staff and will feature Olympian and National Champion
guest speakers during lunch break each day.
Phoenix Pre-Season Camp is on an individual basis and does not require a partner.

Athletes are also welcome to register for the Manly Youth Beach Volleyball Competition on October 6th. This is a team-based event and registration is not a part of the Phoenix Pre-Season Beach Camp.
