Registration for this course closes at Fri 16 Oct 2026 23:59.
To attend the Volleyball Australia (VA) Level 2 Associate Face-to-Face Referee Course, all prerequisites below must be completed prior to registering.
Important: Registrations will be rejected if any prerequisite is incomplete, and you will not be permitted to attend the course.
Session Format
All sessions will include:
- Theory component at the Netball Central
- Practical component at Netball Central
Prerequisites (Must Be Completed Before Registration)
1. Current Membership
- You must be a current financial member of your State or Territory Volleyball Association.
2. Referee Accreditation
- You must hold a Volleyball Australia Level 1 Referee accreditation.
3. Australian Sport Commission – Community Officiating Essential Skills Course
- Complete the Community Officiating Essential Skills Course and obtain the Certificate of Completion.
How to complete this course:
- Step 1: Log in to your Volleyball NSW account → My Account
- Step 2: Select Volleyball Learning Centre
- Step 3: Navigate to Referee Courses → Community Officiating Essential Skills Course
- Step 4: Complete all required modules
4. Integrity & Safeguarding Courses (Certificates Required)
You must complete the following modules and obtain the relevant certificates:
- Play By The Rules (PBTR): Harassment and Discrimination
- Sport Integrity Australia (SIA): Child Safeguarding in Sport Induction (Required for participants aged 18 years and over)
Course Outcome
Upon successful completion of the face-to-face course, you will be awarded: Volleyball Australia Level 2 Associate Referee Accreditation
Upgrading to Level 2 State Referee Accreditation
To upgrade from Level 2 Associate to Level 2 State Referee, you must complete one of the following after the course:
Option 1 – Match Assessments
- Be formally assessed by a Level 3 Referee for:
- 1 × First Referee (R1)
- 1 × Second Referee (R2)
- Submit a completed official scoresheet
OR
Option 2 – Endorsement Letter
- Obtain a written endorsement letter from a Level 3 Referee
Final Step
- Return to this portal and upload all required documentation to apply for your Volleyball Australia Level 2 State Referee Accreditation.
