4. Using flat edge of rake over the top of the sidelines and baselines then shake sand off lines.

We love the sun, but we also know how important it is to protect ourselves while enjoying the game! Please take a moment to follow these sun safety tips whenever you're on the sand:

๐Ÿงด Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, Slide

  • Slip on a light, long-sleeve shirt when not playing.

  • Slop on SPF 50+  broad-spectrum sunscreen at least 20 minutes before play — and reapply every 2 hours or after sweating.

  • Slap on a hat (wide-brimmed or cap) between matches or while coaching/watching.

  • Seek shade whenever possible — especially during breaks and between games.

  • Slide on sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV rays.

๐Ÿ’ง Hydration is Key

  • Bring a reusable water bottle and drink regularly — even if you don’t feel thirsty.

  • Electrolyte drinks can help replenish what you lose through sweat on hot days.

โฐ Time Your Play

  • UV levels are usually highest between 10 AM and 3 PM. Plan for extra precautions during these hours.

๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Look Out for Each Other

  • Keep an eye out for signs of heat stress or sunburn among players.

  • Encourage teammates and spectators to stay protected too.

โœ… Be Prepared

  • Pack sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, extra water, and a towel for shade or cooling down.

  • Know where the nearest shade or indoor space is located.
