Elevate Her Game Sydney Camp Shines at Blacktown’s

New Disability Sports Centre

Volleyball NSW was proud to support Elevate Her Game, a not‑for‑profit organisation, dedicated to raising funds for elite Australian women’s volleyball athletes by delivering high‑quality volleyball camps across the country. With a stellar coaching lineup featuring former Olympians, NSW Phoenix coaches, and current Australian Women’s Volleyroos players, the camp provided an excellent opportunity for athletes of all abilities to develop their skills, explore pathways within the sport, and enjoy learning in a fun and supportive environment.

Volleyball NSW was also honoured to welcome Mayor of Blacktown, Brad Bunting, to the Elevate Her Game Sydney camp, held at the new Disability Sports Centre at Blacktown International Sports Park. The Mayor’s attendance highlighted the City’s growing commitment to creating inclusive, accessible, and empowering sporting opportunities for athletes across Western Sydney.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Mayor for taking the time to meet participants, speak with families, and show genuine interest in the future of volleyball in the region.

Australian Volleyroo, and Volleyball NSW staff member, Mikaela Stevens, who assisted throughout the camp, shared her reflections:

“The camp was an amazing success. It was fantastic to see so many athletes enjoying themselves on the court. They thoroughly embraced breaking down skills, learning new techniques, and challenging themselves throughout each session. One of the best parts was watching them put those newly learned skills into practice in a game environment. The development and growth over the three days were incredible—every athlete improved so much!

My favourite part of the camp, though, was seeing the connections and friendships form. It’s my favourite aspect of the sport and one of the biggest reasons I’ve kept playing for so long. To see these athletes—many of whom didn’t know anyone when they arrived—build new friendships and grow in confidence over the weekend was truly special.”
