Inclusion: Pride Month Summary

Published Wed 08 Mar 2023

It has been a wonderful couple of weeks for Volleyball NSW and Sydney World Pride.

During Pride month, Volleyball NSW managed to run two events, one as part of the AQUA Festival and our own Pride Amplified event, both of which were held at Manly Beach and Manly Cove. VNSW would like to express our gratitude to Northern Beaches Council for allowing us to host an activity for the community.

Thank you to Caz Crayford and Michael Massih for working together to make the Volleyball Come and try with pride vision a reality.

A big thank you goes out to our very own volleyball clubs, Freezone Volleyball Club and Northern Beaches Volleyball Association, without whom these events would not have been possible. It is a pleasure to work with you and your team. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to supporting the Pride community and for ensuring that the event was enjoyable, memorable, and engaging.

There are special mentions for Andrew Wilmot (Freezone Club President), Marielle Bouwman (NBVA Club President), Freezone club members, Ghye Brown, JM Montellano, Zach Fusheng Hsu and Ratchanon Chongpermsup for your tremendous support at the events.

Thank you to Perry Park Recreation Centre for your involvement in the Freezone Mardi Gras tournament on behalf of VNSW. It was a great success, and we look forward to building on this relationship in the future.

VNSW appreciates your guidance and support prior to and during the event, Pride in Sport Australia, Ben Cork.

What a month it has been for the City of Sydney and Sydney World Pride. Sydney is still buzzing with excitement.

Lastly, VNSW would like to thank all the members of the community who participated in the events, gave it a shot, and participated in the wonderful spirit of sport and inclusion. It is for our communities and the wonderful people within them that we do what we do.
