Youth Beach

The NSW Youth Beach State Team “Phoenix” Pathway serves U14-U18 aged athletes aspiring to learn to play competitive beach volleyball and represent the state at National Championships. Over the past few years, NSW has established itself as one of the top programs in Australia finishing 2nd overall in 2022 and 3rd overall in 2023.

Beach player development happens through the combination of local weekly training in a club or social environment and by engaging in weekend competitions hosted by clubs and/or state. Athletes are encouraged to play as much as possible and to improve their game by training and competing on a regular basis.

The Youth Beach Phoenix state team program is responsible for selecting the top athletes, pairing them with other top athletes in their age group, and providing them with competitive training and advanced coaching. Youth Beach Phoenix is a representative program whose purpose is to increase state-wide participation and success at the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships.

Optimal player development occurs through the cooperation of local, regional, and state levels as well as balanced training, playing, and competing. Athletes desiring to represent the state are encouraged to train in a weekly local environment and compete in beach events across the season.
